The key to a successful year is staying involved in your child's
education! Keep the lines of communication open by finding out
what we are doing in class each day. Also, you should check your
child's agenda for homework, important notes from school, a
behavior update, etc. We ask that you initial this agenda each
night.
Homework is very important to your child's learning. The
agenda will have your child's homework written in it each night.
Please check to make sure your child's homework is completed
and back in his/her book bag to turn in each day. Each week your child will have a new set of spelling
words. Though we will be working diligently on them in class,your
child will need to study and review them at home with you. Also,
I will ask that each child read for at least 15 minutes a night
(Monday-Thursday) as part of his/her homework. This is a great
time for you to see how much your child is progressing in 1st
grade.
